Properties of Teak Wood

Naturally Weatherproof
Teak wood contains natural oils and resins that make it inherently resistant to weathering, insects and mould — without chemical treatment.

Moisture Resistant
Ideal for bathrooms and outdoor areas. Teak wood does not warp or rot, even under prolonged moisture.

Built to Last Generations
With proper care, teak furniture lasts a lifetime — and longer. The wood actually becomes more beautiful over time, developing a noble silver patina.

Reused teak from 2027
From 1 January 2027, we are switching newly made teak furniture to reused solid teak. Existing stock retains its respective material specification.
Traceable Origins
Recycled and Plantation Teak
Until the end of 2026, depending on the design, we use recycled teak or plantation teak with SVLK verification of legal origin. SVLK verifies the timber’s legal origin.
Transition from 01.01.2027
From 01.01.2027, our newly made teak furniture will be crafted exclusively from reused solid teak. Because it is repurposed material, the appearance may vary. We will gladly discuss your surface preferences and ongoing orders individually.
Existing stock retains its respective material specification. For ongoing orders or additions to furniture you already own, we will discuss the appropriate specification with you personally.

Lasting Beauty
Care & Natural Ageing
Teak furniture requires very little maintenance. Indoors, occasional dusting and a damp cloth are sufficient.
For garden furniture we recommend treating with teak oil 1 – 2 times per year to maintain the honey-coloured tone.
Untreated, teak wood develops a silver-grey patina outdoors — a natural process that does not affect the structure and is valued by many as particularly elegant.
Scratches and dents? Minor damage can easily be repaired with fine sandpaper and teak oil. We can repair larger damage in our workshop.

Oil with teak oil 1 – 2x per year
